SCAM ALERT

VFDA has been alerted to a scam in the Roanoke area. Families have reported calls from individuals falsely claiming that insurance funds can’t be released until a death certificate is filed, then pressuring them to make an immediate ‘deposit.’

These calls are not legitimate. 
Please Inform your families that your funeral home will never call unexpectedly demanding payment.
