Blair Nelsen, FSL, is a fourth generation funeral director. Formerly president of Nelsen Family Funeral Services, he has been Director of Governmental Affairs for SCI Virginia since 2012.  He is the current Secretary of the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers, serving his fifth term on the Board, and is a past president of the Board. 

Blair holds an Associate of Funeral Science from John Tyler (now Brightpoint) Community college, a BA from the University of Virginia and an MAS from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He serves on a number of non-profit boards and is a past director of the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association and Past President of the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards. 

A retired Air Force pilot, Mr. Nelsen lives in Richmond with his wife of 37 years, Darcie.
