Covered registrants will receive a 100% refund of their registration fees if they are unable to attend a VFDA event due to one of the qualifying reasons listed below. The event must go on and cannot be canceled for this coverage to apply.

What Is Covered

Injury/Sickness — Injury or sickness of the attendee or immediate family member under the age of 81.

Death — Death of the attendee or immediate family member under the age of 81.

Pre-Existing Conditions — Pre-existing condition of the attendee or immediate family member that unexpectedly prevents attendance.

Pregnancy Complications — Pregnancy complication of the attendee, unknown at the time of registration.

Birth of a Child — Birth of the attendee's child within 7 days prior to the event.

Criminal Assault — Attendee is the victim of an indictable criminal assault within 10 days of the event.

Public Transportation Disruption — Unexpected disruption or failure of public transportation.

Flight Cancellation/Rescheduling/Delay — Airline flight cancellation, rescheduling, or delay.

Vehicle Breakdown — Mechanical breakdown, accident, fire, or theft of the vehicle within 48 hours of the event.

Jury Duty — Summons to attend court as a juror.

Court Witness Summons — Summons to appear as a witness in court proceedings.

Resit Examination — Requirement to re-sit an examination.

Examination Reschedule — Unforeseen change of date of an examination.

Property Damage — Burglary, fire, malicious damage, or flood at the delegate's residence or business.

Employer Mandate — Requirement by employer to move, remain at office, business trip, or appointment.

Military/Reserves/Emergency Services — Recall — Recalled or summoned to work.

Travel Warning — Government or local authority travel warning due to adverse weather.

Hurricane/Named Storm — Hurricane or named storm within 3 weeks of the event.

Redundancy — Unexpected compulsory redundancy of the delegate.

Identity Theft — Theft of identity papers (ID card or passport) within one month of the event.

Ticket/Voucher Theft — Theft of event ticket or voucher by break-in and/or assault.
