  The Northern Virginia Funeral Directors Association will have their next meeting on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Logan’s Roadhouse. 7331 Donegan Drive, Manassas, VA 20109.  Social 6:00 – 6:45pm. Business meeting 6:45 – 7:00pm followed by dinner.  The cost for dinner will be $ 50.00.  We will also have a 50/50 Raffle.

  There will be 1 hour of continuing education.

  Our presenter is Mandy Stafford of Return Home.  She will speak on “Terramation – Natural Organic Reduction.”  This is an Amazing Program, that you do NOT want to miss!  I have seen this program and it will open your eyes to new business opertunites for your company.

  We are looking for new people to lead the association in 2026. 

  Our current leadership is: President – Vacant (Cachet Hammond Left The Area)

                                            Gary Maxwell – Secretary Treasurer (liongem1@yahoo.com)

  We are in need of someone to take the Vice President slot and a Secretary Treasurer to complete nominations for the 2026/2027 year officers.

  Attached to this email will be the Membership application, as well as the proposed By-Laws of the Association.

  Firm Membership $ 100.00

  Associate Membership $ 75.00 (Right to vote and hold a position in the association)

  Affiliate Membership $ 50.00 (No voting rights / Cannot hold a position in the association)

  Dear Valued Members of SWVFDA,

  It was wonderful to see familiar faces and enjoy a time of fellowship together at the 2025 Christmas Party. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success.

  Our Spring Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. and will be held at the Damascus Old Mill Restaurant in Damascus, Virginia.

  We are pleased to have Stephen Blevins as our presenter. He will be speaking on “Bariatric Preparedness and Embalming of Bariatric Cases” as well as “Crawl Before You Walk: A Back-to-Basics Look at Mortuary Cosmetics.”

  Dinner will be provided by The Old Mill and will include:
  • Trout and Wings
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Green Beans
  • Pasta Salad
  • Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream for dessert

  For those who hold a license, Mr. Blevins’ presentation is approved for 2 hours of CEU credit. The cost of attendance is $50.00 per person, which includes dinner and the educational program.

  We encourage you to attend and to bring members of your staff as well. Your participation helps support the continued professional development of our funeral service community, including our students and apprentices.
